Nepean Multiple Birth Association (NMBA) is a not-for-profit organisation comprising of multiple birth families. Our organisation provides support, resources and education for multiple birth families.
NMBA was formed in 1973 and is one of the early Multiple Birth Clubs to be formed in Australia.
We are proudly apart of Australian Multiple Birth Association (AMBA) and Australian Multiple Birth Associations NSW (AMBANSW) which comprises of clubs from across New South Wales and Australia.
NMBA offer a supportive ear from “those who know”, however it is more than that: regular social interaction for those who feel isolated; whether it is home visits, a phone call, coffee mornings, playgroups, evenings out or weekend play dates; education at a local level such as expectant parent sessions or first-food introduction classes; breastfeeding support, equipment hire and, volunteer coordination and assistance. These services go a long way to help multiple birth families in raising their children born in very special circumstances.
NMBA is coordinated by a strong volunteer committee who are all members and therefore parents of multiples with busy lives. We endeavour to support our members in any way we can.
NMBA runs regular playgroups, Events and activities to help keep families connected. Many lifetime friendships have been formed from creating supportive and understanding friendships. We also encourage child free meet ups where you can relax and share your journey with others who are travelling with you or have been where you are going.
Geographically NMBA covers a large are from Lithgow in the Blue Mountains to Blacktown in Sydney’s outer west and from Wiseman’s Ferry in the north to Narellan in the south.
